Philippe

philippe

Plot Summary: The MC tells King Jean that she wants to put off their wedding until she actually loves him, and in order to foster these emotions King Jean asks Philippe to write a smutty story featuring Jean and the MC. The MC loves Philippe’s novels and instead of falling for Jean she begins to have feelings for Philippe. But she quickly discovers Philippe’s secret which may very well part them forever

What I think of him: Philippe is the most popular poet in Niflheim. He is a charming and verbally dexterous man. Besides writing, he also works in the library and is in charge of the Book of the Dead. He has been in the underworld for a thousand years and has been waiting all that time for his love to appear in Niflheim. He writes a lot based of his life, and seems to deeply regret something from before he came to Niflheim

Charm point: Philippe’s wink is charming

Quote: “How could I possibly let a light such as you fall away into the darkness on your own.”

Cuddle, kiss, or push down: Listen to his stories, because he is apparently really good at making them up

Would have eloped with: No one

Favorite moments:

  • That the MC tells King Jean that she won’t marry him unless she falls in love with him
  • I like how much Philippe changed over a thousand years
  • I find Philippe’s wink charming (in this route)
  • Tomboy MC

Worst moments:

  • When Philippe is missing and no one can find him, he’s being held prisoner at his house. Why didn’t anyone check his house?
  • At times Philippe’s flowery language feels excessive

Worth the price of admission?: Philippe’s route is alright. I chose him first when the game came out but I found myself skipping a lot of it when I replayed it

After the main route (POSSIBLE SPOILERS): None

Notable substories: I haven’t played any worth sharing
