Nozumu Fuse

Plot Summary: The MC chooses stays with Nozumu in his room for the first night because he is the easiest guy for her to feel comfortable with. It turns out that the MC’s photograph might be exposing the corruption of a high ranking police officer. When all the other detectives refuse to take the case because babysitting the MC seems like a pain, Nozumu says he’ll work the case, and he wants the MC to work with him

What I think of him: Nozumu is easygoing and playful. He tends to come off as carefree and irresponsible, but he is in fact very dependable. He is rarely serious, but that side of him always shows when those he cares for put themselves in danger. He cares deeply for those close to him, including his subordinates and especially Yuriko. He was deeply affected by an event in his past, and although he doesn’t really show it, it is never far from his thoughts. It is frequently hard to tell exactly what he’s thinking and he also seems to have a hard time interpreting the true feelings of those around him

Charm point: He really wants the MC to call him by a nickname (like Non-tan)

Quote: “Since meeting you… I look forward to each day.”

Cuddle, kiss, or push down: Pull him down because he keeps backing off instead of committing to a kiss

Would have eloped with: No one

Favorite moments:

  • Nozumu’s unexpectedly manly moments (like when he covered the MC from the knife attack, or when he scares away the purse snatchers)
  • Blackout at the hotel
  • The progression of Nozumu walking in on the MC undressed
  • The hug in the tunnel
  • Nozumu’s initial confession in the cemetery

Worst moments:

  • When Nozumu pushes the MC away for her own good. It’s a terrible cliche that never makes any sense
  • The MC was grazed by a bullet on her cheek and no one reacts to it after the event
  • How is it possible for the MC to misunderstand Nozumu’s confession so badly?

Worth the price of admission?: Nozumu is great. He’s sort of a revamped version of Atsumu (LLfTX) with Mamoru’s (KbtBB) backstory. I did have a little bit of a hard time getting into his route, since I wasn’t really getting a spark from him and the MC. There were some good moments throughout and in both of the endings, but niether ending really pulled me over into loving the route

After the main route (POSSIBLE SPOILERS):

  • Epilogue: The MC begins to feel insecure about her relationship with Nozumu since it doesn’t seem to be progressing at all. At the same time the agency receives a demand from the landlady to obtain an autograph from a famous actor. It was nice to see Nozumu loose his composure, and I felt like the MC and Nozumu finally had the hear-to-heart conversation they needed in order to have a solid relationship. All in all, this is a good buy if you are a fan of Non-tan, but if you were meh about his main route you may be better able to spend your money elsewhere
